The Acadiana Gazette accepts internship applications year-round. Each intern position offers a blend of professional assignments and clerical duties. Interns receive on-the-job editorial experience with ample opportunities for professional networking, plus priority consideration for bylines and photo credits.
10-15 hours per week
- Responsible for page A-4 On the Record (includes formatting weekly arrests, fire calls and meeting lists, re-writing obituaries and gathering road closure notifications)
- Attend weekly sales meeting
- Assist with copy editing
- Maintain online calendar and Facebook page
- Other duties as assigned
Internship duties are unpaid. However, interns are encouraged to submit materials for publication. Freelance pay is $25 per article of original reporting and $10 per photo.
